mtv is boring
lately i have been hearing teenagers say that mtv is boring . i dont think i ever imagined that i would hear that in my lifetime. but i would have to agree .it seems that mtv is in a rut. the shows that are on when i flip to mtv are always some type of dating show. it is so cheesy and obvious that they are scripted and semi-rehearsed. for the network that has had a reputation of being the trendsetters of cool , they seem to be struggling to be lukewarm. they were the ones who owned teenagers with the short attention spans . but now its just boring . i have heard teens say they arnt impressed with whats on tv now days. reality tv is not anything like reality. i heard a guy say last week that he doesnt care what kind of "crib" some 16 year old rapper has or the many cars that he can barely drive . he cant relate. sounds to me that young america is over it .

i'm right there with ya...i actually like vh1 better. i'll be 30 on sunday!

yep... even jack*ss and wildboys seem to repeat themselves... I mean how many times do you really want to see someone get narded, or injured doing something stupid. And I think they've pretty much copied that from AFV, they just do it on purpose. COPS still has the best reality TV in my opinion! No script... just beatin down bad guys!

mtv is lame. i agree with auny... vh1 is better. not only do they play music videos...but they're more indie about it. mtv is trying too hard these days to create some new type of culture that everyone would want to be apart of. that it's hurting them in the long run. at this point in time, people don't want to be like everyone else, they want to do their own thing. i think mtv has lost focus on that. they have a big head and think everyone still loves them. :)
i'll agree that mtv has gotten itself into a rut recently with all of these 'reality' shows that are obviously heavily scripted & typcially really melodramatic in a way that is nowhere near believable. i think the most fun i get out of watching shows on mtv now is to poke fun at the lack of creativity with the ideas they're coming up with....it's redundant & honestly....how many more real worlds can you make?

I must say that I think that mtv is going to see how far they can lead people astray (note that I didn't say just teenagers). In their board meetings they must say, "how stupid can we be and still have people take us seriously?" It's like an experiment. I have much to say about this present, teen generation. Too bad we're not all sitting together in a living room.
you know...
i think mtv has been trying so hard over the years to keep up with an ever changing generation. what is so cool about hearing people say that mtv is boring.....
maybe we have reached a point where the world can no longer reach us, entertain us, surprise us, or offer connection.
that is very cool when you really think about it.
