i need a roach motel

if you read aunys blog yesterday then you know the story. but here is my point of view.

i was on stage in front of 3000 people doing my first effect for the show. i had not been on the stage for more than 10 seconds when i see a guy standing next to me. he had run up on stage from who knows where. he brought a slinky to me. i guess he wanted me to do a trick with it. i was in the middle of a routine so i just took the slinky and threw it behind the stage and got the guy to help with the illusion. auny was locking me up in this big device with padlocks and getting me ready for the escape. i figured she might need some help with all the locks and thought this guy who was on stage wouldnt mind helping. after i was prepared i had the guy stand back a step and then i said to him, "dont blink". 2 seconds later i escaped and was standing next to him. he freaked out a little bit because he had a very close up view. after the trick was over he took a bow with auny and exited the stage with a little help. did i mention, the guys name was roach?

sue me

well i am sorry for not posting yesterday. i was on the road and didnt have internet. i said that i would finish my story "later that night" but i didnt until today. sorry. if you are really upset about it then i guess you could sue me. can you sue someone for that? am i spelling sue right? i have a friend named sue.

i had a long day. it started with a radio interview at 7am. then we finished driving to mississippi from texas. we loaded in for a show, did the show, ate dinner, and did another show. i just got to the hotel. what a great day for ministry though. there were 3000 people here at the show. God really did some cool things in some peoples lives.

off to bed to do it all over again tomorrow... and please dont sue me for anything. i would rather remain sueless. i gotta go to bed now

thanks to pedro... and the papparazi

thanks to our friend pedro i found something very funny today. i did an article for a webzine a while back. i think it was a great interview. everything seemed to go really well. its hard to know what they will write about you and if it will be true and accurate. by the way, it is rarely accurate. anyway, here is what i found. if you look at the article you will see some pictures of me, some new, some old , and one that is a bit strange. there is one picture that is a bit out of character for me at first glance. in the top right corner, the first pic that you see is me in a blue blazer. but if you look closely you will see that i am wearing something else. can you guess what that is?? i did this picture as a joke last year. i have no idea how it got out. i was doing a practical joke at wal-mart and we took a picture of it. i guess someone leaked it to the public as a joke to me. any guesses as to what that is i am wearing? any guesses as what i was doing wearing that?

the best part

today as auny and i were driving away from my parents home in louisiana we were talking about what we loved the best about our stay. we had our guesses like the food and gifts but after i thought about it for a while i had a better idea. i really loved seeing my family laugh. we had a fun time just hanging out. we rarely get to see each other so this was a big deal. we looked at stuff on the internet and told stories. we also made my sisters baby laugh. it was a good time. thats what i loved the most. laughing with the family was the best part.

make it christmas

hopefully you are at a place celebrating christmas with your family. if so then go enjoy it. dont waste too much time reading this today. get off the computer and enjoy time with the fam. if you are not with family then chances are you are at home. try to find some friends and go do something fun together. try to enjoy people. you kind of have a choice. christmas can be what you make it. last year we were away from family for the first time. we made it great anyway. you can let this time get the best of you whether you are with people or by yourself, but you can take charge of your perspective and make christmas happen. if you are totally by yourself on christmas day then try to find people to be with. if that doesnt work then go volunteer at a soup kitchen. whatever you do, wherever you are, go make christmas happen.

weird gifts

my mom is going to kill me when she reads this. i am at her house right now for christmas so it will be easier for her to get to me. i was thinking about the weird gifts i have gotten over the years. i have to say that the weirdest gift i have recieved for christmas was a toilet bowl cleaner brush. i dont know why, but my mom thought i might want that for christmas. i didnt say i wanted it. i never even mentioed it. what kind of lunatic would want a toilet brush for christmas? i dont know if she was trying to send me a message or what but i got a stupid brush for christmas. anyway, i have almost gotten over the trauma and moved on. so that makes me wonder, what weird gifts have others gotten for christmas, or any other time for that matter.

whats the weirdest gift you have ever gotten????????????????????????????????????????

dont do drugs

some people think i have lost my mind when they hear my beliefs on drugs. i have a very natural approach to life and health. you see, i dont take any drugs. i stay away from prescription and non-prescription drugs. i believe that they are very dangerous to your body and very unnatural to take. most drugs that people take are for symptoms and not the root of the problem. people think i am a nut when i say that so i dont say it very often. i have hesitated to talk about it now on this blog but i want to take a risk. i read this on thursday in the usa today newspaper. check this out and remember this is the u.s. government, the f.d.a. saying this."Ibuprofen is sold under the brand names Advil and Motrin and in generic form as well. Naproxen is best known as Aleve, but is also sold generically. The NSAIDs are blamed for sending more than 200,000 Americans to the hospital every year, and are linked to an estimated 16,000 deaths, the FDA said."

so i am not so crazy for believing that drugs are dangerous. i will not say much more about this. i am afraid people will freak out just for me bringing this up. some might say i am unamerican. oh well. i challenge you to read the entire article here..http://www.usatoday.com/news/health/2006-12-19-fda-pain-relievers_x.htm... or do your own research.

let me point out one key thing in this article. "For aspirin, ibuprofen and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, there is a risk of gastrointestinal bleeding and kidney injury even when patients take the correct dose. The drug are linked to thousands of deaths a year."

scary enough for me

my christmas is complete

monday auny took the gifts to our family that we surprised for christmas. they were blown away. just so you all know, we raised some money for a family that we know and gave them a surprise christmas. we raised about $500 worth of gifts and money that we gave to the family to help them have a christmas. it was amazing. they were talking earlier that day about what they should do about gifts because they didnt have enough money to buy gifts. when auny showed up a few minutes later with all the gifts they were floored. i love being able to help other people. it is an amazing feeling knowing that i helped someone. thanks to all of you who helped out in making this happen. after auny told me about her visit i realized that my christmas was complete.

in the news

breaking news today.. i just saw on cnn and fox news the strange report. i am sure you have heard about this by now but if not here it is. the news is reporting that people from all over the world are filling emergency rooms. people are complaining about their skin. doctors are stunned. some are saying it is a new form of evolution. scientists are baffled as to what is causing this. people from everywhere are mysteriously turning purple. the pigment in peoples skin is transforming into this blueish purple color. some say it could be some type of bruising due to some unkown disease. so far no one has died from it. no one has complained of any symptoms except that they are loosing their sense of taste. it is the wierdest thing i have ever heard of. i dont know anyone personally who has come down with this but it doesnt seemed to be contagious. i dont know, im not a doctor, but it sure does seem like there is something wrong. has anyone seen any purple people yet???

nice sunday for a ride

today was a great weather day. we decided to ride the motorcycle to church. after church we went for a ride with my friend robby. he has a brand new harley. i had to work to keep up with that bike, its fast.the temp was in the mid 70's. today was probably the last day that we will be able to ride comfortably until spring. it was so nice to just relax and ride the backroads all afternoon. auny was on the back just a grinning as we passed farms with horses and rolling hills. we got home right as the sun was saying goodbye. it sure felt good.

memories from christmas

when i was about 10 years old i had the best christmas ever. my parents had just moved us to a different state and of course a different school. i was so lonely there because i didnt fit in very well. my parents were very poor at the time. my dad was going to school and trying to work part time. my mom had a job but we didnt have much to go around. we didnt expect a big christmas because times were hard. but God had a plan. some friends of ours at our previous church in louisiana put together a christmas surprise for our family. they gave us money to buy gifts and brought us some gifts that they had bought for us. we had the best christmas ever. christmas is not supposed to be about getting gifts but for a kid who was miserable with life it was a big deal. my parents got a great christmas too. one of the gifts was a microwave oven. i cant tell you how much that meant to my family. i will never forget that year. we still have that microwave.

if you want to be a part of making a great christmas for another family then email our office at info@brockgill.com or you can make a donation online at verticalministries.com. just click on donate now, and donate to brock.. all donations made thru the weekend will go to the christmas fund for a family we are going to bless

merry $$$-mas

once again i think we have lost some of the meaning of christmas. we have turned it into a super hyper commercialized holiday that boycotts jesus or anything too christian. i understand that we live in a post-modern almost post-christian world according to some people but i am going to be part of the solution and not the problem. i am not going to sit around and cry about how bad christmas is . here is my plan. i am going to take the money that i am going to spend on my wife for christmas and i am going to start a fund for a family who is having financial troubles. the cool thing is, auny is going to put the same money into the fund. we will give each other a hug for christmas and give to someone who needs a gift. the truth is i dont need another gift. im not rich but i have what i need. i dont need another toaster. we need change. you see we have turned christmas into gifts for me and my family and friends. we are kinda selfish even with our giving. thats why i sarcastically say merry $$$-mas. does anyone want to join me to make a difference?

i found a family who really needs some help this christmas. these people are not lazy people who are expecting a handout. they are good people. i know these people. and i know that we can give them a christmas that they will never forget. i want your help. if you want to give some money towards our new christmas fund then email us right now at info@brockgill.com we will personally go and give the gift to the family. all of the money raised will go to this family. this will be a christmas that you will not forget either. if you are offended at the enormous commercialism of the holiday called $$$-mas then now is your chance to make a difference. this is not a plea for money. this is an opportunity to have fun with your christmas and make a difference in a families life. this is going to be fun.

last minute gifts

if you dont want to go to the mall this week to get your last minute shopping done then i have an idea. just buy something from our online store. we have dvds, books, tshirts, hats and other cool stuff. we will have it shipped to you or someone else. the cool thing about getting some gifts from our online store is that not only is it easy but it helps us tremendously. whats even cooler is that 10 out of 10 people surveyed say that they only thing they want for christmas is a brock gill dvd. wild huh? out of the 478 people surveyed on the streets of america, all of them said they wanted santa to give them a brock gill dvd. im amazed. you see, we have done our research for you. if you dont know what someone wants then get them a brock gill dvd. we already know that its what they really want. ok so here ya go www.verticalministries.com click on store then click books or videos or whatever. have fun and tell me what you guys think

first place

i am still very excited about the race this weekend. if you havent heard, i raced my dirt bike this weekend and i won first place at an arenacross. i am so happy about it. here is how it went down.
i got to the arena early saturday morning to get the bike ready for racing. right before the practice session started the bike broke. it couldnt be fixed on site so i was in trouble. my friend/mechanic found me another bike to ride for the day. i was nervous about riding someone elses bike. the bike belonged to a pro rider and i didnt want to crash it.
the first race went like this. i got the holeshot, which means i got out to the first jump from the starting line before anyone else. then i lead the whole race. after getting the holeshot i was so excited i could have gone home right then and been happy forever. i had no idea that i would win this race. i still had one more race for the day. i felt like maybe i just got lucky the first race so i didnt raise my expectations.
the second race was much different. i didnt get the holeshot. another guy got a pretty good lead on me. i tried as hard as i could even tho i was still not comfortable with my borrowed bike. each lap i tried to find the fastest line and i gained on the leader inch by inch. on the next to last lap i got up to the leader. then on the last lap i twisted the throttle and passed the guy in the air on a big jump. i held on for the win. i was so excited. i could hear the crowd screaming for me and it helped me win.
i collected my trophy with a huge smile. i took it back to the hotel and slept with it on my bed. since then i have taken it with me to the movies and to the grocery store and to church and to school and to the office and to france and to... ok i went to far. i am proud of my trophy tho. i actually havent seen anybody to show it to so i will post some pictures of it on myspace.com/brockgill
i had so much fun. it was a real dream come true. i think it was one of the best days of my life

Saturday, December 02, 2006

and the winner is...

believe it or not but, friends i have something very exciting to tell you.
ready?
here it is.

i won the race. i got first place. i cant believe it. i am soo excited. i won both of my races today. i placed first overall in my class. i didnt expect to place at all. my goal was to , have fun , not get hurt, and not be in last place. i didnt think it was even possible for to place, much less win it. i really cant believe it. this has been such a great day. i have had so much fun.

i always dreamed of being able to race dirt bikes and today i did it. and i won!!!

im still without a computer, i will try to post tomorrow as soon as i can find a computer to borrow. i wanna tell you about the exciting part of the race. it was amazing
