AAA roadside service

after driving 12 hours back from florida i get a call about 15 minutes from getting home. it was shannon. she had a flat tire about 2 blocks from my house. when i got to where she was, she was joined by 2 other friends, kim and emily. they had already called AAA and they were on the way to get the flat fixed. i didnt really want to get my hands dirty if a wrecker was on the way but i was skeptical that they would ever show. i have had some bad experience with AAA in the past. thats another story for another day. we waited for the wrecker to arrive for a few minutes then we said we should just go out there and do it ourselves. we thought, as soon as we go change the tire the wrecker would show up. so we waited, and waited. 2 hours later we went out and took charge of the tire thing. did i mention that we called AAA several times and they said "just a few more minutes", "they will be there by 1045pm", and "stop calling us". anyway, since it was almost midnight we were motivated to get it done. as soon as we get air in the tire and pull away from the parking lot, the wrecker drove up.

does anyone have any AAA stories? im sure there are some good ones but most of mine are bad

Y'all are easily amused by being the first to comment.

Um, yeah, the only car trouble I had was like a month ago when my car just died in the middle of an intersection. Ha..that was bad.

But, my people were there pretty quickly to tow it away. So, no bad stories from me! ..then again, they weren't triple a.

Brock, I have had dealings with AAA for years and have only had one bad experience...and that time I was in the church van with the older ladies from Westside! We were in the middle of Florida and there was NOTHING for miles--and no AAA service! I called a church member to meet me on the road. I was not broken down, but the accelerator was stuck and the chock seemed to be wide open and I had to drive with my foot on the brake and just prayed that the brakes did not give out!
