2007 GMA dove awards

tonight was amazing. i performed for the GMA Dove awards. it was wild to be on stage and look out and see some of my favorite musicians watching me. i could see family force five and third day and jars of clay and others watching me as i tried to do some tricks. it was cool tho. they went well actually. i will post a video of it on myspace in the next couple of days. sorry, im too tired tonight to do anything else.
the stress of performing live is amazing. doing tricks that i am not comfortable with in front of 3000 people and tv cameras is not easy. it zaps me. i did have one problem. at one point i was supposed to get a que and then ride the harley on stage. i hit the starter and nothing happened. it was dark backstage and i couldnt see what i was doing. i finally got the bike started and ran it onto the stage. it was great, but i almost had a freak out moment.

wanna hear a crazy story? here ya go. before we started the first set i was rehearsing with the stage hands. i was showing that the dove(a real live bird) was going to behave and wouldnt fly away. then he took off. he flew away. i was about to crumble as i watched helplessly as the bird flew up to the ceiling of the theater. here we were, about to start and my bird was 30 feet above me. i found a ladder and quickly moved into action. i caught that bird and quickly got control of the situation. we almost had a huge mess. i would have no back up plan if i hadnt caught that bird. wow, what a night. people never know what goes on back stage. the stress we go thru to put on a show is unbelievable. but i love it. it is an adventure.
