a reason not to support xm radio
this week on an xm radio show, shock jocks opie and anthony joked about raping secretary of state condaleeza rice and first lady laura bush.
if cbs fired don imus for saying "nappy headed ho" then i think these guys should have gotten the axe already. if cbs doesnt fire these guys then they are saying that rape is permissible on powerful women. i dont care what your political stand is, democrat republican, independent or none of the above, this should offend you. what have we done? we call this freedom of speech? this should be criminal. i really dont understand why ALL media and people of influence have not made an effort to put a stop to this kind of behavior. there is the argument that if it offends you then change the channel. i understand that point of view but, there are many things that i choose to avoid but it is still harmful whether i take part or not. when we allow pornography and deviant propaganda to be widely distributed then we are asking for trouble. it will make its way into your life one way or the other. it will begin to shape the way people think and consequently result in behavior that is destructive. do you think the guys that are caught on "to catch a predator" woke up that day and said,"i think i will molest a 12 year old today"? no. they were shaped by the things they consumed thru the media and internet. we continue to allow media to pour out trash onto the airwaves and internet. we need to take a stand against it. one way is by not supporting it with your dollars. another way is to simply not watch or listen to the stuff that has the things that you dont agree with. do i sound narrow minded? i dont think so at all. i just think we should not just sit here and let it happen without putting up some kind of fight.
here is a challenge. try to watch and listen to things that are more positive. dont accept a low standard. if it has content that you dont like turn it off. and dont buy products from the companies that advertise on that program.
and maybe somebody will get the message

I don't think you sound narrow minded at all!!! I think we christian's are content to just put on a blind fold or ear muffs and pretend that the world we are living in is still a good and wholesome place! We are losing our voice because no one is willing to stand up and scream "This is wrong, what is everybody thinking?" I guess because we think someone might get their toes stepped on or their feathers ruffled a little bit! If we as christian's don't start standing against the media and the satanic things being infiltrated into our thoughts and homes, we are going to wake up oneday and everything is going to be to far gone to turn it around! I truly believe we are in the last hours and God is calling us to be set apart, living as pilgrims passing through! God holds us to a higher standard, whether we hold ourselves there or not!
Lets all stand up as one and scream "THIS IS NOT RIGHT, WE DON'T WANT THIS FILTH IN OUR THOUGHTS OR OUR HOMES AND WE'RE NOT GOING TO STAND FOR IT ANYMORE!!!"

i dont think that i am saying we should go boycott everything we dont agree with. we dont need to create a safe hiding place to live in. christians have done that to some degree by building an entire subculture to live in away from the real world. there is real danger in living in a bubble. we just need to deal with it and not run from it. this is not a religious issue, its a moral issue. this is the decaying of our moral standards. it is more than faith and values, its america. to keep this country great we need to keep a higher standard.
