here is my response
i was asked recently in an interview a question that fired me up. i am going to tell you how i answered it. it may be offensive but i am being honest.
the question was something like this,"what do you say to the pastors who are saying that your show is too flashy, flamboyant, and all about show. they say that people will come to the show but no real decisions are made, its all hype. how do you respond?".
my response
"how many unchurched people will you talk to this week?
the show is more flashy than you think, very flamboyant, and bigger than you can imagine. it gets people, who wouldnt come to a church, to a place where they will listen to the message. peoples lives are being changed every night. i have talked to people who are on drugs who are delivered, those who are in gangs who renounce it, families reconciled from divorce. this is real change. if your pastor says that my show is fake ministry then all i can say to them is take a look at the lives changed. if you have a problem with my show, then maybe you should quit talking about me behind my back, come to the show and see for yourself. if i am doing it wrong then please show me how to improve. i wanna reach people."

you cant hear my emotion but i was lit up. not loud and angry but i was serious and passionate. anyway, i am not cool with some one who is speaking harm out of ignorance. i know i am not perfect, i need help. i want to be shown how to improve. i dont need people trying to start a revolt against me and the work we do. we are trying to reach your city.
i will shut up
Brock, as you know I have been to your shows and I do not think that they are flashy and just for show. I was at Palm Coast last year and a teenager behind me was suddenly convicted by the Holy Spirit...his Mother was not a Christian and was really confused about what was going on. I turned around and counseled with the teen and the Mother--both of them accepted Christ. I encouraged them to find a local church where God is the honored guest at every service and become involved. I also suggested a quiet time each day of Bible study and prayer. There were many others, but that was one particular situation that I was involved in. I also know that the local churches had not reached that family! YOU got them to that gym and they heard the message and the Holy Spirit took over....I feel like He also placed me in the seat that I was in! I have also noticed that when the "Show" is over and you deliver the message that people do not leave--they stay and listen!
None of us are perfect, but I see you striving to be in God's perfect will....just keep on doing what you are doing. Those detractors need to attend a show and see for themselves before they attack. They probably are not aware of how the devil is using them....pray for them--they need help!
I also know on a very personal note that your videos have had a great impact on many young people. Cliff can attest to that! He told Rhonda that "Brock said that it is a Christian's job to tell others about Jesus." He is doing his best to do just that-the week after his baptism, we were there and he turned to Lauren Rose and asked her if she knew Jesus....
And for those who do not know me, I am a grandmother who has a passion for youth and one of your greatest fans!
Just keep on doing God's work!
Praying for you and Auny!

Our generation has long since pasted the days of taking your lost friends to a Billy Graham crusade. I'm sorry that may be harsh but it's true. In order to reach people in today's culture you go big or go home. If this person wants to tell you that you are too flashy you tell themto do it their way and you do it yours.
You are reaching people by meeting them where they are and that is what makes you amazing.
i love your shows and everone i know who went to it loves it too just keep up the good work
Just keep doing the next "right" thing. Remember Jeremiah? I'm certain he was flashy, flamboyant and such. But he was where he felt God wanted him. Look at it like that Moto-cross race you did the other day. There you were struggling to get thru the race...you passed people sitting on the side of the road...just looking at you...but you didn't give up! You gotta do like Paul said..."Run the race set before you!" What you and Auny do touches many lives...it touched mine. I was saved at 9 years old. Lived in a Christian home. I am a victim of domestic violence, living in a home with a practicing alcoholic, and a divorced chrisitan. But I am a born-again, sanctified child of the living God. I consider myself a better person by meeting you and Auny.
Stay strong in the Lord.

tell em how it is brock!!!
We all have a tendency to try to please people. We may not admit it, but it is there. We occasionally need to be reminded that we perfom for an audience of one. Can all the plaudits of man compare to a simple "Well done, my good and faithful servant?"
Brock, God is blessing your ministry and is using you to reach people. Period. I know criticism is frustrating. Please don't let it get to you, though. Keep performing for that audience of one.
Being unique is lonely, Brock. People just don't understand unique people most of the time. I agree with Corey. Keep "performing" for that audience of one. Pam in shepherd
