metal mulisha and the bears
this weekend we stayed at a hotel in downtown orlando. everything seemed normal except one thing. we didnt see any ladies in the lobby or elevators. we did see a bunch of men who all looked the same. we saw alot of guys who were overweight with a perfect little beards. we soon realized there was a gay convention going on. it was a club called the bear club and it consisted of "heavy, hairy men...". i felt so weird and out of place. i had to leave the swimming pool because, well i felt very uncomfortable.
anyway, i was also at the hotel with some athletes for the dew tour. twitch and the boys from the metal mulisha were there as well as other "hard core" heavily tattooed peeps. now imagine, a hotel full of large hairy gay men and the metal mulisha. it was a very strange sight. i saw jeremy "twitch" stenberg get on an elevator with 2 gay guys. im not sure who was most uncomfortable, "twitch" or the love birds.

also at our hotel was the band maroon 5 and, ha, a christian leader conference. wow what a mix of people huh?
that is the best group of people I could ever fathom to put in a hotel together. Hilarious
This post made me think of a few years ago when I was in Orlando (Lakeland, technically) for a wedding. We went to Disney and immediately started wondering why we kept seeing large groups of people in red shirts. You guessed it - gay day. The funny thing was when my friend proposed to his girlfriend in front of Cinderella's castle and was applauded by guys wearing Minnie Mouse ears.

Oh my gosh! how funny is that. Summer before last my mo m and i went to conneticut we went to new york for a day while we were there. There was a very colorful paraid and my mom was like wow this is neat. As it turns out it was the gay pride paraid. we saw some dudes in leather hot-pants and leather vests. ewww
