i am sad to leave my home in florida. we really enjoyed our time there. the best part, other than the awesome beaches, was this restaurant called el morroco. it was owned by an israeli couple and we just fell in love with these people. they were so good to us. it made us feel like we had family there.
they served the best food in the world. it was morrocan. if you have never had food from that part of the world then you are missing out on a real treat. we ate hummus, and babaganouj, and roasted eggplant everyday. we also sampled the tagine chicken and the lamb was to die for.
it became my favorite food ever. auny is so spoiled now she cant even eat anymore. she has decided to protest us leaving florida and has gone on a hunger strike.

i am gonna miss that place. the even sadder news is that they will not be there when we return. they have closed up and moved to miami.

ok, so auny has a sister named kay jones. pretty normal name right? what if you translate it? into spanish.

she just left for peru to be a missionary. before leaving they asked her to pronounce her name in spanish. no one had any idea what they were about to hear. as she said it people chuckled and got red faced.

if you are not seeing the humor then lemme fill you in. jones is pronounced honeas. now put it all together.

the cool thing to do

i have been seeing the news about the new thing that all the cool kids are doing. apparently the cool thing to do is to go to jail. i encourage all of you out there to go to jail. if you wanna be cool then go get drunk and drive around until you get picked up. its the latest trend that is taking over right now. all the most popular kids are doing it, from paris, to nicole, to lindsay. they are our role models for our teenagers. they seem to be doing great. they are successful. if they do it then we should to. so kids, if you wanna be cool then go do something stupid so you can go to jail. who knows, maybe you will get to meet a famous celebrity.

corporate

i have focused 99% of my time and energy on outreach for as long as i can remember. today i went outside of the box. i was booked to do a corporate show. it was for a bunch of business leaders from all over the country. i really had a great time. it was so different from the normal things i do. we stayed in a great hotel and did shows in the convention center. it was a small group of only about 200 people but it was awesome. i was wondering if they would get me ya know. i am kind of edgy for a bunch of guys in suits and ties but it worked. i think i will do some more of this corporate stuff.

we are staying in the largest non-casino hotel in the world. this place is huge. when we checked in, they gave us a huge map so we could find our room. google it so you can see the pictures. i have a room with a balcony that opens up to a huge jungle inside the atrium of this place. im thinking about going for a boat ride now. it is inside the hotel.

blueberry

Igot a blackberry with a blue cover. Therefore I call it my blueberry. I am amazed by this little thing. I am posting this blog by using this blackberry.
It is going to take me a while to figure it all out by I think I am gonna like it. Soon I will not beed a computer because I can do it all on my blue blackberry

i thought it was deja vu. lindsay lohan arrested again for dui and cocaine possession. that makes twice in a week. here she is, straight outta rehab, driving again.
whats wrong with young hollywood? these girls have it all. they have everything that you could ever want but they throw it all away. her "people" say that it is a disease of addiction she has. i will correct that for them, her disease is not addiction, it is sin. addiction is a result. it is a consequence of bad choices. she has a sinful nature. we all do. until jesus christ rescues you from sin and saves you from sin, you are ruled by it.
ya know, watching young hollywood screw up their lives is fun for some people to watch. the media loves it. they love it because it sells magazines and tv. these people have a camera on them watching them live sinful lives. but they are not much different from the kid next door. it shows us once again that we need to reach out to the people around us and share the message of hope.

im home... kinda

i just walked into my house. we have been gone for so long. we will be home this week but we are doing shows in nashville. i am actually staying at a hotel in nashville for a couple of nights. i am doing shows at the hotel, so the room makes it convenient. it will be kinda funny, we are in our home town but not at home. we have done this before. it feels like we are out on the road. the only difference is that when it is time to leave, it is a short drive home.

so, about the picture from below. if you read yesterdays post about the lady at the drive thru then you may have been a little confused. by looking at your comments it seems that some of you are seeing that there is a problem here. i will explain

we were driving thru a little city in florida and this caught our eye. we pulled over to ask a few questions. well here is the story. the reason she is standing at the drive thru window outside her car is because everyone is doing it. its because they built the drivethru on the wrong side. everyone has to get out of their car to walk up to the stupid drive thru. someone made a big mistake when they designed the building. when they were all done with the building they probably tested it out and realived "oops.. what have we done?".
that is the dumbest thing i have ever seen.

i am already tired of this election. i think they started earlier than ever this time. i wish they would give it a rest. the trash talk that is coming from some of the presidential hopefuls right now is already old. i dont trust most politicians because i think that they usually just want to get elected and they care mostly about themselves. i am not sure that a politician can really do what is best for the people and still keep his job. i dont know, it just seems so crooked. i am from louisiana, so i guess i have had my fair share of crooked politicians. our state is known for it. i just wish there was a better way to do an election without all of the name calling, lies, and self promotion

This is Auny posting this...Since I finally know how to place pictures on my blog using a mac (thanks to Shannon and Frank), I decided to post pictures from this summer. Everyday this week you will see a recap of the summer so far using pictures. Hope you enjoy!







This is Big Stuff camp in Panama City Beach, FL. We did 9 shows with them this summer.


This is at LIFT camp in Lakeland, FL. We were there one week this summer.


We spent 3 full weeks at SuperWow in Fort Walton Beach, FL.


We thought that we would be smart this summer and pack everything into our pick-up truck instead of bringing our big semi truck everywhere. It was a bad idea! Not only did we look like the Beverly Hillbillies, but it kept raining and we'd have to get out and place tarps on everything! We will not make that mistake again!

we did it

it was tough but we just completed 3 solid weeks of shows. when i mean solid weeks, i mean solid. it was so awesome but it wore my butt out. i have been in bed all day today trying to catch up. the past few weeks we were doing camps in ft walton at the emerald coast conference center. the camp is called superwow, and it is a highlight of my year. we always get to see old friends there. if you done have a summer camp to go to with your youth group then try to go with us next year.
anyway, i have to say that these past weeks were unstinkinbelievable. God moved in a real way. i am getting emails from people who have been changed in a big way. it is so great to see God work thru me and change peoples lives.
i am going to rest up and then take off tomorrow. we are headed to daytona beach for another camp called bigstuf. there is going to be 4000 people at this one. the tough part of the summer is behind us. from here on it will be a slower pace. we will finish this summer tour soon.

g

we call him g. sometimes we call him g-boss. hir real name is gresham. he is our manager and presidente of this whole operation. gresham came to see us today at ft walton. he is coming to see some of this new stuff that i am doing. we are working hard right now creating a new show. the show is going to have a miracle theme. g is helping me right a script for the show. he is also trying to figure out the best way to tell people about it so they will book it. anyway, he is an awesome guy. he has been a key player in all i do. he has been working with me for 8 years now. i couldnt ask for a better team captain than him.

superstar

there is a new up and coming artist that i want to tell you about. stephanie smith is signed with gotee records and will be one to watch. you all know by now that you can count on me to bring you the freshest new info on great artists, i am very proud to introduce you to stephanie smith. her new song is called superstar and it is brand new to the radio and already getting a great buzz. her record will not be out until early next year but look for her on some up and coming tours(its a secret for now but i will tell you soon). her song is out today on itunes and it is amazing. go right now and download the single "superstar". if you like chick rock, or happy rock, then go check this girl out. trust me, its good stuff!!!

meet barbara

this past weekend was one of the most memorable weekends i have had in the past 10 years. here is why.


over a year ago my tv show aired on discovery spanish channel. a girl named barbara saw it and quickly found us on the internet. she began to comment on my blog. she always said that she wanted to see us perform live. if we were ever close enough, then she would find a way to see us.
this weekend she got on a bus and rode for 30 hours from mexico to houston to see me. when she came in i realized how big of a deal it was for her. she didnt know where she was going. she didnt know where she would sleep. it was totally courageous for her to go all that way for a chance to see us. i was blown away.
after the show we spent some time together. we went to dinner and then back to the hotel. it was alot of fun.
i asked her the next day how she learned to speak english so well. she said that she tried to read my blog and learn how to comment back in english. i was like, "what?". repetan por favor. she said she learned english by reading my blog and commenting back for the last year. i am amazed.
this girl is 21 years old and has more life and joy than i have seen in most people. we had a blast with her. the first thing that auny and i said after meeting her was, "we love her". she is so great.
i still cant believe that she came all that way to see us. the impact that you make on the world is sometimes not noticed. this weekend, i noticed. the interesting thing is this, i was impacted. it made me feel so great to here her talk and see the joy on her face. i found a new friend and her name is barbara.

its gonna be a big week. i am gonna need your help. here is why.

sunday morning i will speak 2 times at one place and then do 3 appearances at another. then i will eat lunch at the airport and head to florida. as soon as we land we will go to panama city. monday morning we will do a show then jet to ft walton for another that night. then i will speak/perform 3 times tuesday, twice wed., 3 times thursday, and a short one friday. i am gonna be tired.

this will be my busiest week of the year. it will be great but i need to take it one day at a time. i am going to be shot about uh... tuesday. pray for me to get rest so i can keep my mind clear. it is gonna be a big week. i need you to help me. pray

saturday is july 7, 2007. no big deal right? wrong. people are giving this date some extra special attention. for me, it will be just another saturday but for many it is a superstitious day that will go down in history. some say that today is the day that jesus will make his triumphant return. ya know, because its 07-07-07, 777, "the lords number". some people are getting married today for its the perfect day to begin a new life. for some its a perfect day to take a risk or start something new. maybe its a lucky number. i cant imagine what the slot machines will be like in vegas today. its funny how people get so worked up over a number. its just another date on the calender.
gotta go, time for me to go get lunch. maybe it will cost $7.77

steak, its whats for dinner

rarely do i eat steak. i remember a few years ago i would eat steak all the time. i decided to get healthy and limit my red meat. but tonight, i said who cares i am eating a steak. actually i ate almost 2 steaks. yep. i grilled some rib eyes for the family and they were... wha... wait a minute...amazinggggggg. i said it. we ate steak and potatoes and some beans, and...anyway, we had a great time enjoying some now famous steaks right off my grill.

so i guess you figured out that i was out of town, in the middle of nowhere. the plan was for me to have someone post my prewritten blogs for me and auny. i guess that plan died. the person i had hired to manage the blog for a few days has now been fired. they will go back to their original job of gaurding young hollywood from making a mess of their lives.
im kiddin of course.

its july 5 and i am still smelling deet from last nights fireworks event. i went to a park and joined about 5000 other people who were covered in that great smelling chemical that repels bugs called deet. i dont wear that stuff for fear of it killing me but last night i got high off the second hand deet. it was everywhere, on every person. they even had candles with a scoop of deet on top. i can assure you, there are no bugs in brentwood tn. they were all killed last night by the offensive odor. those bugs probably got the word out pretty quickly and headed for the hills.
help me they brought out the deet!!

todays is the day we celebrate when columbus found america and met the indians. they ate a big feast and went to the lake and enjoyed fireworks

Getting Some R & R

Hi Everyone

This is Brock's mom. He asked me to post a blog for him since he and Auny are with her parents at a cabin some place deep in the woods where they have no cell phone coverage nor internet. They are getting some well deserved rest and family time. He and I had such a hard time communicating that it was not until today that I figured out that he wanted me to post a blog for him!

I think they will be back in the next day or two, but if you faithful do not see a blog for a couple more days, you will know why.

Let's see . . . since they are without cyberspace . . . I could tell you all kinds of things about them!!!!
