the nashville scene

if you are a nashvillian then check out the latest issue of "the scene". it is a pretty interesting article about rcktwn club. for those who dont know rcktwn is a christian music venue with a skatepark and coffee shop. it is the coolest place i have ever seen but it is slightly controversial. you see, being a music venue they have all sorts of concerts. they are loose with who comes, although they deny those bands who are violent and totally offensive. thousands of people come thru the doors each week. they are reaching people in a whole new way. it is truly a dirty business. you just cant win though. the christians get upset because it is not christian enough. my friend ben cissel(known as the drummer of audio adrenaline) is now the bossman out there. he has a huge heart for those kids who are there. they dont have parents who love them at all but the kids will hang out at this place everyday. the staff becomes their parents. they even go to pta for some of those kids.
anyway, "the scene"had a big article about it all. i am not sure what i think about the article just yet. maybe they were poking a little fun at christianity maybe not. maybe they dont have to. bottom line, christianity is not cool. no matter how hard we try, we are not cool. more on that later. for now, check out "the scene".

we laughed

today was my oxymoron friends birthday. her name is emily and she is a very funny girl. very fun to pick on because she is a walking oxymoron. anyway, we decided to get a card and get random people from everywhere to sign it. the guy at the gas station signed it. the girl at holiday inn express, people from the liquor store, the tattoo shop, the othe gas station, the mexicans at the restaurant signed in spanish, the people at the cocoa tree and about a dozen others. no one knew her, that was the rule. they all said something funny like, "emily, you are my anti-drug". it was the best. at dinner we gave her the card and we laughed with her for an hour. we even video taped it all and showed her. we laughed all day as we celebrated her birthday and she joined us for the last hour of it. it was the best birthday ever. for us and for her. happy berfday emily

goodbye tennyson

a few weeks ago a guy that worked in our ministry was found dead. it was a tragic day for all of us who knew him. his name was tennyson and he was an awesome man of God. he was a magician who spent every last breath serving God. his only purpose in life was to bring hope to people in need. here is his story.

http://www.denverpost.com/lifestyles/ci_7492332

tennyson was an inspiration to me as well as many others. he was truly an amazing man.
tennyson will be missed.

please pray for his ministry partner jim as he tries to pick up the pieces and move forward with the plan God has for him.

if anyone finds a ring...

if anyone is in my backyard near the wood chopping area and finds a gold ring, it may be mine. i would like to have it back if you dont need it. apparently, as i was wearing my overalls and boots and chopping wood, i lost my wedding ring. i think it fell off my hand. a couple of years ago i lost alot of weight and ever since then my ring wants to jump off my hand. once i was at a water park and i caught it just before it hit the water in the lazy river. i am pretty good at keeping up with things. on saturday i took the ring off because i was working and didnt want to loose it. i put it back on sunday morning and then lost it that afternoon. i told auny about it. she said that without the ring she didnt think we could make it. love is all about the ring. "no ring no love", she said. yea right. she didnt mind it. she said that i could just get a tattoo on my finger to replace it. its cheaper and much more difficult to lose. also, it is almost impossible to steal it. i dont know, i guess i will keep looking for it. i dont think i will find it until it stops raining and the leaves can be blown away. then maybe i can look closer on the ground to see if i can find it. next year i will be hosting a ring search party at my house. all are welcome as we search the ground inch by inch.

does anyone have thoughts or advice on all of this. ??

zero-redneck in 6.2 seconds

its been a crazy week. we had 29 people at our house to entertain. we loved every minute of it. i needed to keep up with cooking and cleaning and preparing as if... wait i sound like my mom.
moving on. kyle and i went to take the trash to the dump and on the way home we saw a tree laying on the side of the highway. we decided to pick it up and load it into the back of my truck. it was in 4 huge sections about 10 feet long. we needed firewood so we took advantage of the opportunity. we brought it home and made a fire. we realized that it needed to be cut up so it would burn better so we went to home depot and bought an ax. after the rain let up a little bit i put on my overalls and boots and threw on a hat. i went from zero to redneck in about 6 seconds. it was an amzing transformation. you should see me. i am a real redneck. we used our brand new ax to cut up and split all the fire wood. it was alot of work but very worth it. you are all invited over to my house for a fire anytime you are ready. but get ready, who knows what will happen. we may all go from zero-redneck at any moment

this holiday is different

i think that thanksgiving is the only holiday that is left untouched. most holidays have been violated by commercialism and hype. thanksgiving may be the most pure holiday that we have. yea, sure there is still groundhog day or whatever but i am talking about a major holiday. here is what i am saying, most holidays are marketed to us by profit driven companies. holidays are beginning earlier and earlier. there are more and more "traditions" that seem to appear, and they usually require you to spend more money. i never remember celebrating st patricks day but now it is a big holiday. i am not totally against all of this but i think we have reached the limit. the one holiday that is not overly advertised is thanksgiving. we buy turkey, because we gotta eat, but there is nothing else that is really expected. maybe the reason is because we started christmas already.
thanksgiving is about family and friends genuinely spending time with each other. i enjoy this holiday every year. i hope this year is as special as years past. i hope that you will have a great, pure, holiday. happy thanksgiving

the miracles tour

we are now booking for the spring. the new show is called "the miracles tour". we are so excited about this show. we are going to bring the miracles of jesus to life on stage. for the first time ever we will do a show that is truly an experience for the audience. here is why. the audience will not just watch the show, they will feel it, hear it, taste it, and even smell it. it will touch all 5 senses. it is going to open peoples eyes to the life of jesus. we will explore the miracles and discover why jesus was who he said he was, "the messiah". this show will be something that could be done in the church as well as theaters. believers and nonbelievers alike are going to have something that they will take home with them and remember forever.

if you want us to come to your church and present this new show then email us right now for more info.

let me go ahead and say merry christmas

everywhere i turn there is christmas stuff so i guess i will say it, merry christmas. it sounds weird every time i say it. you should see the funny responses i get when i say it at the mall, the store, or whatever. i dont know why they give me strange looks. they have christmas trees up every where and decorations all over the place. what is the big deal about me saying merry christmas? i guess i am out of line for saying merry christmas but it is ok to where sweaters with santa clause on the front. at lunch today the family sitting next to me had santa clause on the sweater and one person was wearing a red christmas hat. but i cant say merry christmas. im having fun with it. anyway, i have an idea.

this year for christmas i think you should all buy my dvd and give it as a gift to your friends and family. maybe even a shirt or hoodie. what about a hat. ok good merry christmas.

here is a chance to be involved

I just heard about an awesome ministry run by Campus Crusade for Christ, called Global Media Outreach. They run 45 individual evangelistic websites (such as www.godlovestheworld.com, www.looktojesus.com, www.godlovessoldiers.com, www.meant4more.com ), one of which receives a hit every six seconds. They actually receive more e-mails than they can respond to right now and need help from believers with a heart for outreach in responding to the e-mails, which come from people of every race, religion, and national origin throughout the world.

You can tell them how many e-mails you want to accept per week – every little bit helps! They had 483,336 indicated decisions to accept Christ in the first six months of 2007.

If you’re interested in helping out, go to www.globalmediaoutreach.com.

guess what i did last night?????????

"Kountry Gentleman"

I come from the land where the mullet attacks
Business up front
Party in the back
You gotta style in the south when ur stepping out
Put a gold tooth in ur mouth
Look at you now
Tank top, ur ball-cap, you think ur all that
But ur looking like Scott Stapp
Ur just another redneck from back in the woods
Not a Kountry Gentleman that can bring the goods, Tayoooo
]
My mama raised me in the durty south
A Kountry Gentleman
So you best watch ur mouth
My mama raised me in the durty south
A Kountry Gentleman
That's what it's all about

IROC-Z, got an eagle on it
Rolling on some 12's
Don't you know I'm gonna flaunt it
Am I driving too fast for you now?
BACKFIYYUUURRRE!!
The muffler goes KA-PLOW!!

Now that I got ur attention
Just let me mention that I'm pinchin' pennies
To buy some 20's
Cause I got plenties and many's of monie's just to give to my friends
And that would certify me as a Kountry Gentleman....BURRRRRDDDD!!

Mama, what you got cookin' up in that kitchen?
Cookin' fried chicken?
Cause you know I love that soul food
Everythang you cook is so good
For a southern man like me
U gotta cook it up clean, cook it up mean
Mama don't like it when you got leftovers

Gimme me some of them collard greens
Got me some grub and I gotta go
Down to the Grocery store
Tailgate party at the PIG WIG
Jumpin' up and down in the back of a truck bed
Look at that kid tryin' to act all big
Tried to break-dance and broke his leg
He ain't got what I got
Let's make it hot in this parking lot

My mama raised me in the durty south
A Kountry Gentleman
So you best watch ur mouth
My mama raised me in the durty south
A Kountry Gentleman
That's what it's all about

happy sexy sixty

my dad turns sixty today. last week we had a little party for him backstage at freedom experience. someone got him a cake and it said, "happy sexy sixty". he laughed at that quite a bit. we all thought it was funny.
my dad is awesome. he is an inspiration to me. he is a huge believer in me and has been my biggest supporter. he is the kind of guy who everyone likes to be around. he has taught me so much about life without even knowing. he is someone that i want to pattern my life after. he is someone that really reminds me of jesus. for all of you that have met my dad then you know what i mean, he has a gift with people that is amazing.

i want to do something great for his birthday but i just dont know what would be worthy on my budget. so here is an idea. he likes to laugh, so lets make him laugh. lets fill up the comments with things that are funny. jokes, stories, inside jokes. anything goofy. the crazier the better. if you want to email something that you dont want the world to read then send it to him at info@brockgill.com . lets make this fun and get crazy.

job well done

this was the last freedom experience for the season. kim has been our director for the past year and is now moving on. this was her last week. we ended on a great one. she has had big vision and heart, and spent many long hours working on our events. because of her hard work we saw some great things happen in the cities we visited. we wanted to say good bye to kim and thank her for all the hard work, so we presented her with a guitar that was signed by the entire crew. we gave it to her last night before the show. she cried and got dizzy and almost fainted, and turned colors. then she gave us a speech. she said that freedom experience was her life, and that we were her family. it was a great moment.
well, it has been a great year. we couldnt have done it without her. kim, job well done. you will be missed

it was huge

last night at freedom experience, it was a packed house. people were so excited to be there. it was amazing to see it all. we began with a big intro. i rode out on my dirt bike and jumped up on a ramp and stopped the bike. i said "are you ready??????". at that moment the lights came on bright and the bmx riders and the motocross riders paraded thru the arena and hit the jumps all at the same time. it was so cool. at that moment the band(eleventy seven) began to play. it was so huge.

but...the best part about it was that so many people listened to the message later in the night and were touched by God.

for the week, we had about 10,500 people show up over three nights. we had over 1200 people saved in three nights. we even sent in a team into the prison here and saw another 52 saved.

this week has been a huge week for ministry. something huge is going on in corpus christi texas. be praying for this city. it has just begun. the churches will continue to follow up and carry the momentum. no one is taking any credit for what we saw this week. all i can say is God chose to do something bigger than i could imagine.

im amazed at what God did, it was huge.

to all who have been praying for us at this city, thank you. we needed it and we saw the effect

Pray for victor. Needs jesus. Pray for this guy to be saved soon.
Pray for my bodyguard. He is almost ready to surrender to jesus. Pray that tonight will be the night for him.

here we go

after a big, huge, bigger than you think, bombfire with the crew we packed up all the trucks and sent them to texas. we needed a smores night as we sat around the fire in my backyard with everyone. the reason is because we have a huge week ahead. we go to corpus christi for freedom experience. this is going to be a really large event with a large team this week. we are going to be doing school shows monday thru thursday and the event will be tuesday thru thursday. after much preparation and many challenges we are going to attempt one of the biggest outreaches we have ever done. we will be in the american bank center. it seats 10,000 and we want to fill it up with people that need to hear the message. please pray for us. we have had some big financial setbacks already but we are not going to let it stop us. we need prayer to get thru this week. i will be in need of strength as i perform about 3 times per day all week. this will be a challenge. i need God to carry us this week. email ya friends and churches and the pope, we need people praying. thanks. we will let ya know how it goes

it was released today with a good bill of health. nothing to worry about now. it is gonna make a quick recovery. thank God for the insurance.
