ecuador-part tres
we spent some time at the beach in a city called salinas. it was a great beach and perfect for just chillin. we found a hotel for $30. we sat on the beach all day long and watched the waves come in. every few minutes a street vendor would walk by and try to sell their goods. some had jewelry, some had sunglasses, and some had food. from fresh coconuts to shrimp, they had it all. the food was so cheap. it only cost about $1 or less for almost everything we ate. there was a guy who would cut open coconuts with a machete and serve it to ya right there on the beach. the best part was when a guy walked up showing us some langostas, lobsters for english speakers. the lobsters were still alive but he was selling them. i didnt need a pet lobster but i could use some lunch. 30 minutes later he brought plates and silverware, he set up a table, and served us a huge plate full of lobsters. we never moved from the comfort of the umbrella on the beach. it was the best lobster i had ever had. i couldnt believe this guy served us lobster on the beach. it was so cheap. in south america $6 gets you a lobster, in united states it gets you a cup of coffee.
tomorrow i will tell you why they call me "baywatch
